Join us on Saturday 9th July for an inspiring combination of choral music in a stunning setting.

Granta Chorale will present a summer’s evening of choral music at the church of St Magdalene Ickleton. Their programme takes inspiration from the beauty of our local surroundings indoors and out celebrating the natural world and delights of summer gardens. Pieces of medieval music take us to the era of the church’s exquisite wall paintings and modern settings bring to life characters and situations featured on the walls. Folk songs, jazzy numbers and atmospheric surround-sound music complete a varied evening.

The proceeds from this concert will go towards preserving the church’s extremely rare 12th century frescoes.

Janet Wheeler – conductor
Richard Carr – piano/organ

Programme to include: The Turtle Dove – Ralph Vaughan Williams, It Was A Lover and his Lass – John Rutter, Better is Wisdom – Janet Wheeler, The Pardoner’s Song – Sarah Cattley, Agincourt Song – Anon, Fyer Fyer – Thomas Morley
