Our Place in Space | Minecraft and Coding Sessions

Our Creative Learning team are coming to Cambridge for a week of Minecraft and coding workshops inspired by Our Place in Space. Free digital workshops will see you create your own space vehicle or design a game inspired by the iconic Space Invaders arcade game.

Learn all about our solar system before setting off on your mission to create a new space vehicle within Minecraft before showcasing your creation at the end of the workshop. Suitable for ages 8–14, no experience of Minecraft necessary.

Monday 8 August (4pm–6pm) at Cambridge Central Library

Tuesday 9 August (1pm–3pm) at Cambridge Museum of Technology

Thursday 11 August (10am–12pm) at Cambridge Museum of Technology

Develop your own game inspired by Space Invaders in this digital workshop. Learn to modify and enhance your game, making it harder for your opponent to beat, before showcasing your game at the end of the workshop. Suitable for ages 7–12, no coding experience necessary.

Did you know?

One of the oldest surviving buildings in Cambridge is the Leper Chapel on Newmarket Road. Also known as the Chapel of St Mary Magdalene, it dates back to the 12th century and was originally used as a place to isolate victims of leprosy.
