Theatre of Widdershins

Storytelling & puppetry by Andy Lawrence

Tangles? Split Ends? Frizzy? Flyaway? It’s bad enough having a bad hair day, but pity poor Rapunzel who spends her life in a tower with a strange woman who uses her captive’s locks as a step ladder! What sort of damage is that going to do to your hair? Theatre of Widdershins have taken this traditional tale right back to its roots, teased out the tangles and styled it into a beautifully coiffured hair piece! This enchanting show promises plenty of body, volume and loads of highlights. Make an appointment to see the show today – because you’re worth it!

Theatre of Widdershins was created by Andy Lawrence in 1994, performing eight major productions in schools, libraries, village halls and theatres. Andy is a self-taught puppet marker whose previous work includes costume commissions for the Light Entertainment Department of the BBC (Russ Abott; Little & Large; Dr Who) puppet and prop making for theatre companies How It Ended and Full House and collaboration between the Norwich Puppet Theatre and the Roald Dahl Story Company.

Did you know?

One of the most famous figures in English history, Oliver Cromwell, was laid to rest at Westminster Abbey, but his decapitated head is buried in the grounds of Sidney Sussex College in Cambridge. Grisly but true!
