Having entered its 60th year, Cottenham Village College’s Adult Learning team are gearing up to run one of its largest Summer School programmes in recent years. The Summer School will take place on Monday 22nd to Friday 26th July (10am – 4pm).

Cottenham Village College was opened in 1963, many years after Henry Morris had named Cottenham a preferred location for one of the village colleges. Since this time, the school has continued with adult education, initially running “further learning” classes from its opening offering comprehensive vocational, academic and leisure courses. Cottenham swiftly established a reputation for community education, and it was the subject of several films produced by the college itself in the 1960s. One celebrated the importance and popularity of community education.

The Summer School was born out of the colleges’ lifelong learning ethos, and has been running for 14th years, this year!

There is something for everyone to kick off the summer this year, with workshops spanning Guitar, Indian Cookery, Italian for holidays, Weaving, Drawing to Textiles, Upholstery, Dog Training, Skills Boot Camp and much more.

Zoe Andrews, Principal of Cottenham Village College, commented: “We are absolutely delighted to be able to offer our Summer School programme to our Adult community again in our 60th year! What a programme we have in store this year, there is such a wide range of opportunities on offer.”
