Born in Cambridge, heavily influenced by childhood stays in Dominica, nature, the sea and a love for her Southwold Caravan – painter Nadia Koo brings a vibrancy and energy to her art that excites. Colour and texture, the physical and emotional, are Nadia Koo’s creative force.
‘ I am excited to show over 40 pieces of my work in the bold, modern art space at Espresso Library art.
Colour defines my works. I feel the vibrancy of greens, turquoises, pinks… and these form part of my real and imagined botanicals, people and animals. I love texture and shape on the canvas.
Each piece for me is spontaneous and intuitive, I feel my way around the canvas with pure freedom. Each painting is an evocative, rich, awakening of my senses. I am both calm and intense when I paint – using my hands, bold brush marks and dotting. Leaving the studio, I walk back to my house leaving behind spent emotional energy.’
