Willingham Craft Beer Festival

A modern beer festival run by the local community, The Bank Micropub, and Jolly Good Beer. Also featuring great cider, gin, wine and popular local food trucks.

  • 7th July 2022 - 10th July 2022
  • 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

The Willingham Craft Beer Festival is an extravaganza of independent drinks and food situated in the Village of Willingham which is accessible from Cambridge centre (& elsewhere) via the Busway from Longstanton stop (then 30 minute walk) or the Citi 5 bus route. In 2022 we’re holding our first beer festival since summer 2019 – this will be our 4th beer festival in Willingham.

The festival is organised by local community members and also raises funds for local causes (in 2019 we raised £6,000 for the Willingham Youth Trust and Friends of Willingham Library). The beer and other drinks are arranged by the folks from The Bank Micropub (which has been serving excellent drinks in the village since 2012) and Jolly Good Beer (a beer wholesaler founded in Willingham in 2014) – Chris and Yvan from these two businesses curate a list of 30 cask ales, 18+ keg beers, plus independent ciders, wines, gins, and soft drinks.

Food at the festival is supplied by a rotating list of local food trucks, in 2022 this includes: Nanna Jude’s on Thursday, Azahar and Rotiseroll on Friday, Buffalo Joe’s, Steak & Honour, Nanna Jude’s, and La Biga Pizza on Saturday, and Pimp My Fish on Sunday.

The festival’s main event sponsor (helping to cover in-going costs such as glassware) is Thompson Taraz Rand chartered accountants and the festival half-pint sponsors are Cambridge Medical Communication.

Festival entry is £3 on the door (cash or card/contactless) and there is a £2 deposit on festival glassware, refundable on return of glassware (100% of door/glassware event profits go to charitable causes.) Drinks at the festival will be purchased using a token-card system with cards available at a separate token desk in the hall and food trucks operate their own cash/card payment systems.

See you there!

One of the oldest surviving buildings in Cambridge is the Leper Chapel on Newmarket Road. Also known as the Chapel of St Mary Magdalene, it dates back to the 12th century and was originally used as a place to isolate victims of leprosy.
