Inside you’ll find a cosy bar with comfy seats and a wood burner for those chilly nights where all are welcome including muddy boots and four-legged friends.

Our locals are a friendly bunch and always ready for a chat, you can enjoy a board game with your friends or take time for yourself and just relax

The restaurant is open every evenings and Wednesday to Sunday lunch times. We’re all about sustainability and use locally sourced seasonal produce and the freshest ingredients for our menus which are best described as fine British country fayre with a little flourish of French home cooking.

Our garden is the perfect spot for after work drinks. Handcrafted blankets are on hand if you’re feeling the chill and on blistering days you can borrow a boater and help yourself to some sun protection lotion. Whether you choose to dine in the restaurant, snack in the bar or graze alfresco, we like to think there’s a somewhere and something for everyone.

There are four en-suite quirky courtyard rooms, lovingly decorated in contemporary soft tones combined with luxurious fabrics, quality bedding and of course a flat screen tv, a rather lovely treat tray with your favourite hot drinks and snacks plus a little doggy treat bag for pampered pooches. Breakfast is served wherever you like, in your room, the bar or on the terrace.

So, what else makes the John Barleycorn different? Simply put, the people! Our team genuinely care and want to make sure that you really enjoy the time you spend with us… we’ll always take that extra little step to make sure everything is just right. Whatever you need, just ask and we’ll make it happen.
