Cambridge Open Studios returns this July, inviting visitors to step inside artists’ studios, homes and creative workspaces across Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, Ely, Saffron Walden and surrounding villages. Over four weekends, hundreds of local artists will open their doors, offering a rare opportunity to see where art is made, meet makers face-to-face and discover original work in painting, printmaking, ceramics, jewellery, textiles, sculpture, photography, glass, mixed media and more. Visitors can plan their own route, explore neighbourhoods and villages, follow art trails, enjoy a day out with friends or family and buy directly from artists. Free to visit and welcoming to all, Cambridge Open Studios is one of the region’s most loved annual arts events, celebrating creativity, community and the pleasure of discovering art in the places where it is made. Led by artist-printmaker Alex Booker, this beginner-friendly session explores woodcut printing through observation, experimentation and making. You’ll work through the process of designing, carving and printing by hand, creating a series of bold and expressive prints.
