‘The breadth of work is always a highlight of the exhibition’ explains Davidona de Winton, Curator. ‘The ethos of the Excellence of Youth exhibition, is founded upon a desire to encourage and nurture young artists, providing advice, practical support and experience as the exhibitors start to build a professional career in the art world. In 2022, we are pleased to be incorporating work from three young artists who have actually never had the opportunity to exhibit before. The last few years have had such a devastating impact on the public’s ability to access and enjoy art, and have of course left artists isolated, unable to access the support of fellow creatives and without exposure to the reality of a commercial art environment. We are so excited to be able to help champion the vibrant, creative work of these incredible young people. As well as many new faces, we are proud to feature works from award-winning artists such as Jacob Chandler and Georgie Mason.  Another artist, Ania Hobson, is for us one of many success stories. As a young person she exhibited with EoY as a new-comer and is now a confident, respected and highly acclaimed artist, winner of the BP portrait award and having sell out exhibitions all over the world!’

‘My experience with the Excellence of Youth was always a great one!  It’s a well curated show and a great platform for young artists to showcase their work.  I really felt that I needed that opportunity to push my work out there as a young artist, the art world is so expansive!  I sold some of my first paintings there and still remember the amazing feeling that came with a sale!’  Ania Hobson
